Statements of Faith

The name Yatav comes from the Hebrew word meaning “that it may be well with you.” This phrase is found in Scripture, often tied to keeping the commandments of Almighty:

And you shall keep his statues and his laws (mitzvot), which I charge you this day, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land, which Yahovah your Almighty gives you forever. — Deuteronomy 4:40

Honor your father and your mother, as Yahovah your Almighty charged you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which Yahovah your Almighty gives you. — Deuteronomy 5:16

Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my laws (mitzvot) always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for everlasting! — Deuteronomy 5:29

“Walk in the whole way which Yahovah Almighty has charged you, that you may live and be well with you and prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.” — Deuteronomy 5:33

Now these are the laws (mitzvot), the statutes, and the ordinances, which Yahovah your Almighty charged to teach you, that you may do them in the land whither you go over to possess it; that you might fear Yahovah your Almighty to keep all his statutes and his laws (mitzvot), which I charge you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged. Listen therefore, O Yisrael, and keep and do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as Yahovah, the Almighty of your fathers, has promised to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. — Deuteronomy 6:1-3

And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of Yahovah; that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which Yahovah swore to your fathers. — Deuteronomy 6:18

Keep and listen to all these words which I charge you, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you for everlasting, when you do that which is good and right in the eyes of Yahovah your Almighty. — Deuteronomy 12:28

but this thing I charged them, saying, listen to my voice, and I will be your Almighty, and you shall be my people; and walk you in all the way that I charge you, that it may be well with you. — YirmeYah (Jeremiah) 7:23

But YirmeYah said, that shall not deliver you. Listen, I beseech you, to the voice of Yahovah, in that which I speak to you: so it shall be well with you, and your soul shall live. — YirmeYah (Jeremiah) 38:20

Whether it is good, or whether it be bad, we will listen to the voice of Yahovah our Almighty, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we listen to the voice of Yahovah our Almighty. — YirmeYah (Jeremiah) 42:6

True wellness comes through obedience. Just as a loving father gives his child instructions for safety and wellbeing, our Creator has given us His instructions (Torah) and laws (mitzvot) to bring life and blessing.

Obedience is how we show our love to our Creator

And you shall love Yahovah Almighty with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. — Deutoeronomy 6:5

Know therefore that Yahovah Almighty, he is the Almighty the faithful Almighty, who keeps covenant and kindness with them who love him and keep his laws to a thousand generation — Deuteronomy 7:9

Therefore, you shall love Yahovah Almighty and keep safeguarding his statues, and his ordinances, and his laws always. — Deuteronomy 11:1

See, I hve set before you this day life and good, and death and bad; in that I charge you this day to love Yahovah Almighty to walk in His way, and to keep his laws and his status and his ordinances, that you shall live and multiply, and that Yahovah Almighty may bless you in the land whither you go in to possess it. — Deuteronomy 30:15-16

Only diligently keep to do the laws and the instructions which Moshe the servant of Yahovah charged you, to love Yahovah Almighty, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his laws, and to cleave to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. — Yahshua (Joshua) 22:5

and said, I beseech you, O Yahovah, Almighty of heaven, the great and terrible Almighty, that keeps covenant and kindness with them that love him and keep his laws. — NechemYah (Nehemiah) 1:5

And Yahoshua said to him, You shall love Yahovah Almighty with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first law. — MattitYah (Matthew) 22:38-39

If you love me, you will keep my laws. — Yochanan (John) 14:15

He that has my law and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. — Yochanan (John 14: 21

If you keep my charge, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's laws, and abide in his love. — Yochanan (John) 15:10

And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his instructions (Torah). He that says, I know him, and keeps not his instructions (Torah) is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoso keeps his word, in him verily has the love of Almighty been perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him: he that says he abides in him will himself also to walk even as he walked. — 1 Yochanan (John) 2:3-6

Hereby we know that we love the children of Almighty, when we love the Almighty and do his instructions (Torah). For this is love of Almighty that we keep his instructions (Torah): and his instructions (Torah) are not grievous. — 1 Yochanan (John) 5:2-3

And this is love, that we walk after his instructions (Torah). These are the instructions (Torah), even as you heard from the beginning, that you walk in them. — 2 Yochanan (John) 1:6

Keeping the Torah results in blessings, health and wellness, and living long in the land

and he said, If you will diligently listen to the voice of Yahovah your Almighty and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will give ear to his laws (mitzvot) and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians: for I am Yahovah that heals you.  Exodus 15:26

And it shall come to pass, because you listen to these ordinances and keep and do them, that Yahovah your Almighty will keep with you the covenant and the kindness which he swore to your fathers: and he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you; he will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you. You shall be blessed above all peoples: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. And Yahovah will take away from you all sickness; and none of the bad diseases of Egypt, which you know, will he put upon you, but he will lay them upon all them that hate you. — Deuteronomy 7:12-15

The instructions (torah) of Yahovah are perfect, restoring the soul: the witness of Yahovah is sure, making wise the simple. the precepts of Yahovah are right, rejoicing the heart: the laws (mitzvoit) of Yahovah are pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of Yahovah is uncontaminated, enduring for ever: the ordinances of Yahoah are true, and right altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned: In keeping them there is great reward. — Psalm 19:7-11

My son, forget not my instructions (torah); but let your heart keep my laws (mitzvot); for length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to you. — Proverbs 3:1-2

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear Yahovah, and depart from wickedness: It will be health to your navel, and marrow to your bones. — Proverbs 3:7-8

My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh. — Proverbs 4:20-22

Resting on the seventh day sabbath: Shabbat

And on the seventh day the Almighty finished his work which he had made; and he ceased on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.  Genesis 2:2-3

Remember Shabbat to keep it purified. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is Shabbat to Yahovah your Almighty; in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your man-servant, nor your maid-servant, nor your cattle, nor the sojourner that is within your gates: for in six days Yahovah made heave and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and settled down the seventh day: wherefore Yahovah blessed Shabbat day and purified it. — Exodus 20:8-11

And Yahovah spoke to Moshe saying, Speak you also to the children of Yisrael saying, Verily you shall keep my Shabbat: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that you may know that I am Yahovah who purifies you. You shall keep Shabbat therefore; for it is pure to you: every on that profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is Shabbat of rest, pure to Yahovah: whosoever does any work on Shabbat day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Yisrael shall keep Shabbat, doing Shabbat throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Yisrael for everlasting: for in six days Yahovah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he ceased, and was refreshed. — Exodus 31:12-17

Six days shall work be done; but the seventh day shall be to you pure, a Shabbat of rest to Yahovah: whosoever does any work therein shall be put to death. — Exodus 35:2

Six days shall work be done: but on the seventh day is Shabbat of rest, a pure rehearsal; you shall do no manner of work: it is Shabbat to Yahovah in all your dwellings. — Leviticus 23:3

Keep Shabbat day, to purify it, as Yahovah your Almighty charged you. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work; but the seventh day is Shabbat to Yahovah your Almighty: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your man-servant, nor your maid-servant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your cattle, nor the stranger that is within your gates; that your man-servant and your maid-servant may settle as well as you. And you shall remember that you were a servant in the lad of Egypt, and Yahovah your Almighty brought you out thence by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore Yahovah your Almighty charged you to do Shabbat day.  Deuteronomy 5:12-15

Thus says Yahovah, keep you right and do righteousness; for my deliverance is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that does this and the son of Adam that holds it fast; that keeps Shabbat from profaning it, and keeps his hand from doing any wickedness.  YeshaYah (Isaiah) 56:1-2

And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments. And on Shabbat they ceased according to the law. — Luke 23:56

Let not anyone therefore decide for you in meat, or in drink, or for allotting a feast or a renewal or Shabbat which are shadow necessities; while the substance is the Messiah. — Colossians 2:16-17

There remains therefore Shabbat keeping to the people of Almighty. — Ivrit (Hebrews) 4:9

Eating clean

Of every uncontaminated beast you shall take to you by sevens, the male and his female; and of the beasts that are not uncontaminated one couple, the male and his female: and of the flyers also of the heavens, by sevens, male and female, to keep seed alive on the face of all the earth. — Genesis 7: 2-3

Speak to the children of Yisrael saying, these are the living things which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. (2) Whatsoever parts the hoof and is clovenfooted and ascends the cud among the beasts that you may eat. (3)...These may you eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat. (9)...Yet these may you eat of all flying creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, wherewith to leap upon the earth. (21) Even these of them you may eat: the locus after its kind, and the bald locus after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. (22)...For I am Yahovah that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your Almighty: You shall therefore be purse, for I am pure. (45) This is the instruction of the beast, and of the flyer, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps upon the earth; (46) to make a distinction between the contaminated and the uncontaminated an between the living things that may be eaten and the living things that may not be eaten. — Leviticus 11

You shall not eat any abominable thing (3). These are the beasts which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, (4) the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the antelope, and the chamois (5). and every beast that parts the hoof and has the hoof cloven in two, and ascends the cud among the beasts, that you may eat (6). Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them that ascend the cud, or of them that have the hoof cloven: the camel, and the hare, and the coney; because they chew the cud but part not the hoof, they are contaminated to you (7). And the swine, because he parts the hoof but chews not the cud, he is contaminated to you: of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcass you shall not touch (8). These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever has fins and scales may you eat; (9) and whatsoever has not fins and scales you shall not eat; it is contaminated to you (10). Of all uncontaminated birds you may eat (11). But these are they of which you shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier-eagle, and the osprey, (12) and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kind, (13) and every raven after its kind, (14) and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea mew, and the hawk after its kind, (15) the little owl, and the great owl, and the honed owl, (16) and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant, (17) and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat (18). And all creeping flyers are contaminated to you: they shall not be eaten. (19) Of all uncontaminated flyers you may eat (20)... — Deuteronomy 14

Testing all things against scripture

Therefore I love your laws (mitzvot) above gold, yea, above fine gold. Therefore I esteem all your precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. — Psalm 119:127-128

Every word of the Almighty is tried: He is a shield to the that take refuge in him. Add you not to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar. Proverbs 30:5-6

To the Torah and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no light of dawn.” — YeshaYah (Isaiah) 8:20

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11

Test all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21
