Imagine this: there is no sun and no moon. There are no lightbulbs, no candles, no LEDs — yet a great light fills every corner of existence. It is not just brightness, but brilliance beyond compare — a light existing with life, truth, righteousness, and love.
This is not imagination or metaphor; this light is real, and it is described in Scripture. It is the everlasting light of the Almighty — a radiance so pure that darkness cannot exist within it.

Light
And the Almighty said, let there be light: and there was light. And the Almighty saw the light, that it was good: and the Almighty divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:3-4
To the upright there arises Light in the darkness: He is merciful, and compassionate and righteous. Psalm 112:4
From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same the name Yahovah is to be praised. Psalm 113:3
Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in a land of the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined. YeshaYah (Isaiah) 9:2
The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light to you; but Yahovah will be to you an everlasting light, and your Almighty your splendor. YeshaYah (Isaiah) 60:19
Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the brilliance. Ecclesiastes 11:7
And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that the Almighty is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1 Yochanan (John) 1:5
And the city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon to shine upon it: for the splendor of the Almighty did lighten it, and the lamp thereof is the lamb. And the peoples which are freed shall walk amidst the light hereof: and the kings of the earth bear their splendor and esteem into it, and the gates thereof shall in no wise be shut by day (for there shall be no night there) Revelation 21:23-25
Our Creator knows that light is good for us, because He is light! What does the science say?
Science Confirms: Natural sunlight boosts vitamin D, strengthens bones, improves mood, and supports immune balance. Morning light helps regulate the body’s circadian rhythm, improving sleep and hormonal function. Sunlight also kills or deactivates many types of bacteria, mold, and viruses on surfaces and in the air — a natural disinfectant! Studies show that ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun can reduce common pathogens and freshen the air when indoor spaces are allowed to air out.
How to Practice:
Spend 10–20 minutes outdoors in natural light daily without sunscreen to absorb vitamin D
Open curtains and windows when possible to let sunlight and fresh air cleanse your home.
Hang bedding, towels, and clothing in the sun when weather allows — an old-fashioned practice now proven to reduce microbes.
Dim artificial light at sundown to help signal to your body it's time to unwind
Lift up your thanks and praise to our Creator all throughout the day.
A note on red light therapy
Modern science continues to uncover the depth of what the Creator built into light. One fascinating example is red and near-infrared light therapy — a non-invasive way of using specific wavelengths of light to support cellular repair and reduce inflammation.
Studies show that red light can help:
Increase energy production in cells (by supporting mitochondrial function)
Reduce muscle and joint pain
Improve skin health and wound healing
Support mood and circadian rhythm, especially when natural sunlight exposure is limited
These findings echo what Scripture has long shown — that light restores, renews, and gives life. Whether from the rising sun or modern light therapy, light reminds us of the Almighty’s design for healing and balance.
